The landing along the North front is called the Nursery Wing passage. There are two principal bedrooms with their adjoining dressing rooms. They are now furnished in the turn of the 20th century style. The present Duke, with his brothers and sisters occupied these rooms as children when the family visited Syon each year during late spring and summer. The first, which has brown flower wallpaper, was their nursery dayroom.

The film director, Robert Altman, used this bedroom in the feature film ‘Gosford Park’. It became the bedroom scene for “the date with the hot glass of milk” between the actors, Kristin Scott Thomas and Ryan Phillippe. The yellow silk bedcover, bed drapery and curtains, which were specially made by the film company for this scene, have been retained.
